Set the marketing direction for a consumer brand by turning audience insight into product choices, clear positioning, effective launches, and measurable growth.
About the Organization
A community-led travel company offering curated group journeys. The experience brings people together through shared travel, with thoughtful planning and dependable on-ground delivery supporting each trip.
About the role
This is a broad, hands-on marketing leadership role. You will turn customer and market understanding into clear brand direction, effective campaigns, strong launches, and measurable growth, working across internal teams and external partners.
About the role
We are looking for a strategic, hands-on Head of Marketing to build and own the overall marketing direction. The role calls for strong experience in D2C or consumer brands, a deep understanding of Gen Z and Millennial consumers, and the ability to turn consumer insight into products, positioning, and growth.
Key responsibilities
- Own the 360-degree marketing strategy across digital, social, performance, influencer marketing, PR, partnerships, events, and offline channels.
- Understand consumer behaviour, emerging trends, and purchase psychology, particularly among Gen Z and Millennials.
- Lead new product launches and go-to-market strategy, including target audience, positioning, messaging, channels, launch plans, and marketing targets.
- Help founders assess which products and ideas are worth launching, how to test them, and how to scale successful ones.
- Build the brand while also driving performance and growth marketing.
- Create clear marketing plans, budgets, KPIs, and growth targets.
- Connect marketing choices to commercial outcomes, revenue, and customer acquisition through strong analysis.
- Build teams and manage agencies, creators, and external partners.
- Take significant ownership in a fast-paced, founder-led environment.
Experience and preferred background
- 8–12+ years of experience.
- Preferred experience in D2C, consumer, lifestyle, beauty, fashion, hospitality, travel, or youth-focused brands.
- Strong understanding of both brand building and performance or growth marketing.
- Experience building teams and managing agencies, creators, and external partners.
- Strong analytical and commercial judgement, with the ability to connect marketing decisions to revenue and customer acquisition.
Your First 90 Days
First 30 days: understand and assess
- Learn the brand, customer segments, travel offerings, business priorities, and founder expectations.
- Review current positioning, marketing channels, campaigns, customer acquisition activity, and available performance data.
- Understand the current team, agencies, creators, partners, budget, and decision-making process.
- Identify the clearest near-term opportunities and gaps across brand, demand generation, and the customer journey.
Expected outcome: A concise diagnosis of the current marketing engine, priority opportunities, and an agreed near-term focus.
Days 31–60: set direction and build the plan
- Translate audience and market understanding into clear positioning, messaging, channel priorities, and campaign plans.
- Establish a practical marketing calendar, budget view, KPIs, and a regular performance-review rhythm.
- Align internal owners and external partners around briefs, responsibilities, timelines, and quality standards.
- Begin focused tests across priority campaigns and channels, with clear learning questions.
Expected outcome: A coordinated marketing plan with clear owners, measurable objectives, and early evidence from priority tests.
Days 61–90: improve and scale
- Use campaign and customer data to refine channel investment, messaging, and the marketing mix.
- Strengthen the link between brand-building activity and measurable demand.
- Recommend which initiatives, partnerships, and channels to scale, adjust, or stop.
- Present a forward-looking roadmap for the team, budget, and next phase of growth.
Expected outcome: A repeatable marketing operating rhythm and a prioritized growth roadmap grounded in performance and customer insight.
What Success Looks Like
- The brand has clear positioning and consistent messaging across priority touchpoints.
- Marketing plans connect audience insight, channel choices, budget, and business outcomes.
- Campaigns and launches are delivered to a clear standard, with learnings captured and applied.
- Performance is reviewed regularly, and investment shifts toward activities showing stronger evidence of impact.
- Internal teams and external partners have clear priorities, ownership, and working rhythms.
How We Work
The environment is entrepreneurial and hands-on. People are expected to take ownership, communicate directly, bring commercial judgement, and stay close to execution while building better ways of working.
Ideal candidate
This is a broad marketing leadership role, not a channel-specialist position focused only on performance marketing, social media, or influencer marketing.
The ideal candidate can work with founders to answer:
- Who is our consumer?
- What should we launch, and how should we position it?
- How should we test a product or idea?
- Where will customers discover it?
- What should we spend?
- How do we scale what works?
The person in this role brings clarity, consumer insight, and strategic direction to the marketing function.
Ready when you are. One form, one shot.
We review every application. If it's a fit, you'll hear from a human within days.
