Brand & Marketing Lead | B2B SaaS (Education)
🎯 The Mission
Build the brand and marketing engine that turns a high-quality education technology product into a trusted, sought-after name among universities in India and, over time, international markets.
Move the business from sales-led push to market-led pull. Build enough awareness, authority, and trust that university decision-makers know the brand before the sales team enters the room - and view it as a credible partner for a high-value, long-term transformation.
About the Organization
We are a two-year-old B2B education technology company building enterprise software for universities and educational institutions. The product already serves 30+ clients across India, alongside a growing set of international customers.
The product is strong and has proven value, but the brand has not yet caught up with the quality or ambition of the business. That gap makes every sales conversation harder: the team must first establish credibility before it can discuss the product. With annual contracts typically ranging from ₹30 lakh to ₹1.5 crore and a six-to-eight-month buying cycle, brand trust and category authority are commercial necessities.
This is the moment to change that. The immediate opportunity is to become a recognized and trusted name in India's higher-education ecosystem. The longer-term ambition is to use that credibility to unlock international markets.
The Role
This is the senior-most marketing role in the company and a true zero-to-one mandate. You will own brand, B2B marketing, communications, thought leadership, demand creation, partnerships, events, community, and marketing's contribution to pipeline.
You will inherit a small team of two junior resources across marketing and pre-sales. You will coach them, define the operating rhythm, identify capability gaps, hire the next layer of the team, and build the right agency and specialist network. This role requires a hands-on leader who can set direction, work closely with founders and Sales, and stay close enough to execution to raise the quality bar.
What You'll Own
Build a distinctive B2B brand
Define the positioning, narrative, messaging architecture, and brand system for the company and its product. Turn product strength, customer outcomes, and market insight into a credible enterprise story for university leaders and institutional buyers.
Build thought leadership and a strong LinkedIn presence
Make LinkedIn a serious channel for category authority—not a stream of generic posts. Build an editorial system across the company page, leadership voices, customer stories, sector insight, product education, and opinion-led content that earns attention from education decision-makers.
Own SEO, AEO, content, and digital discovery
Create the strategy for search engine optimization and answer engine optimization so the brand becomes discoverable when buyers research university technology, institutional transformation, and enterprise education solutions. Strengthen the website, landing pages, knowledge content, case studies, and conversion journeys around real buyer questions.
Create brand partnerships
Identify and develop high-leverage partnerships with education associations, industry bodies, ecosystem platforms, complementary technology providers, and other credible institutions. Build programs that expand reach, strengthen trust, and create access to the right buyer communities.
Build events and community as growth channels
Own the strategy for conferences, roundtables, webinars, customer forums, leadership gatherings, and community-led initiatives. Ensure every activity has a defined audience, message, follow-through plan, and commercial purpose.
Partner deeply with Sales
Understand why deals move, stall, or die across a six-to-eight-month enterprise sales cycle. Build account-based campaigns, buyer education, nurturing journeys, customer proof, pitch narratives, case studies, and sales collateral that help the team enter warmer conversations and improve conversion.
Build the marketing function from the ground up
Set annual and quarterly priorities, budgets, KPIs, dashboards, workflows, and review cadences. Develop the current team, hire new capability, scout and manage agencies, and create a high-ownership culture with clear standards for strategy and execution.
Prepare the brand for international markets
Build a foundation that travels: clear category positioning, credible proof, strong digital discovery, globally legible messaging, and repeatable go-to-market playbooks for priority markets outside India.

The Profile That Will Thrive
You are an experienced B2B marketing leader - not a consumer or social-first marketer looking to stretch into enterprise marketing. You understand how reputation, education, proof, and repeated trust-building influence complex buying committees over long sales cycles.
You should bring:
- 8+ years of relevant experience, with meaningful ownership in B2B SaaS, enterprise technology, ERP, IT products, education technology, or a business serving universities and institutional clients.
- Evidence of building brand authority and demand for high-consideration, high-ticket B2B products.
- Strong understanding of enterprise buyer journeys, account-based marketing, lead nurturing, sales enablement, and pipeline measurement.
- Hands-on depth in LinkedIn, thought leadership, content, SEO, AEO, digital discovery, PR, partnerships, events, and community.
- The ability to translate a technical product into a clear commercial narrative for senior decision-makers.
- Experience building teams, hiring specialists, selecting agencies, managing budgets, and creating accountable operating systems.
- Strong customer-listening, research, writing, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Comfort combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a startup environment.
What Success Looks Like
- University leaders increasingly recognize and trust the brand before a sales conversation begins.
- Sales enters warmer conversations with stronger proof, clearer messaging, and better buyer education.
- LinkedIn and leadership content establish credible category authority.
- SEO and AEO improve qualified discovery across the questions institutional buyers actually ask.
- Partnerships, events, and community create access, advocacy, and relevant demand.
- Marketing is measured against brand strength, qualified pipeline, sales enablement, and commercial outcomes—not activity volume.
- A capable internal team and high-quality partner network can scale the function beyond the founding phase.
- The brand and go-to-market foundation are ready to support international expansion.
How We Work
The company is headquartered in Rajkot, and the current team has strong roots in Gujarat. The business, customers, and ambition are pan-India and increasingly global. This hire is an important step in bringing broader experience and perspective into the organization.
The culture is result-oriented, collaborative, and entrepreneurial. Teamwork matters, but this is still a startup: priorities will evolve, initiative is expected, and leaders must be willing to build rather than inherit.
Integrity and a long-term mindset are non-negotiable. This role is for someone who wants to own the function over time, build durable capability, and stay for the journey—not treat it as a short stop.

Why This Role Is Worth It

You will create the brand, team, systems, and market presence that help a strong Indian education technology product become a trusted category name—first nationally, then globally.
